eclip Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026 · eclip is operated by MarcusBR Inc.
The short version
Your raw footage never leaves your phone. eclip scans
your library, picks moments, and cuts your reels entirely on your device.
Our servers handle text about your footage, a few still frames used to plan
each reel, and the finished reels the app itself makes for you. Your camera
roll is never uploaded.
What we collect and why
- Instagram profile basics (username, display name,
account type, bio) and an access token, when you connect
your Instagram professional account. We use the token to read your own
posts and their performance numbers so your reels improve over time.
Tokens are stored on our servers, encrypted at rest, and never shared.
- Footage descriptions: short text generated on your
device about your clips (scene labels, durations, quality scores, motion
readings, and on-device speech transcriptions), along with a few numbered
still frames from candidate clips. These are sent to our servers to plan
your daily reel and are processed by Anthropic's Claude API as part of that
planning; the frames are used for the plan and never stored. The raw clips
themselves, their audio, and your photos are never uploaded.
- Finished reels: the daily reel the app renders for
you, with its cover frame and caption, stored privately for your account so
deleting the app never deletes your reels. After a reinstall you can
download them back, one by one. Erased when you delete your data.
- Reel plans: the concepts, captions, and clip references
the planner produces for you, kept so your reels do not repeat themselves
and so we can measure what works for your account.
- Performance lessons: summaries of what performs on your
account, computed from your own posts' public numbers.
What we never collect
- Your raw photos, videos, or audio. Processing happens on your phone;
the only videos on our servers are the finished reels eclip itself made
for you.
- Your Instagram password. Connection uses Instagram's official login.
- Contacts, location history, or anything outside your camera roll's
metadata and your own Instagram account data.
- Face data. To keep your reels focused on the person the
account is about, eclip compares faces between clips on your device. That
comparison, and the numeric face signature it relies on, stay on your phone.
They are never uploaded, never stored on our servers, and never shared. They
are deleted with the rest of your data when you disconnect.
Sharing
We use two processors: Supabase (hosting and storage, including your
finished reels) and Anthropic (Claude API, which processes footage
descriptions, planning frames, your profile basics, and public post data to
plan reels). Neither receives your raw footage. We do not sell data, and we
do not share it with anyone else.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is connected. Delete everything at
any time, in the app: tap the account icon, then "Disconnect and delete my
data". This immediately erases your access token, profile record, reel plans,
lessons, and your finished-reel archive (the videos included) from our
servers. You can also request deletion by email and we
will complete it within 30 days. See our
data deletion instructions.
Terms
Using eclip is also subject to our terms of service.
